Hello. I have been looking for a few months for a 1950s Seamaster cal. 351 in my price range. I was hoping for some opinions on this eBay listing. I don’t see any indication of “swiss made” in the lower part of the dial and am a bit skeptical as to whether this is an original dial. Very much appreciate any help. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Om...768441?hash=item1a7a5879f9:g:o5EAAOSwS4tctSVYPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Ok, I'm no expert, but take a look at how the Omega symbol is crammed up against the text and you can see immediately it's refinished, and not well. I'd pass..
Agreed. Even my newbie eyes say this is a bad redial. Patina on the indices don’t gel with the color of the dial and script isn’t right
For comparison. Here's a nice looking watch that sold on OF several years ago: https://omegaforums.net/threads/waf...2577-with-cal-351-on-nifty-bor-bracelet.3390/
I think @Hem1999's dial is original. Here is the eBay auction (left) Ω logo and @Observer's example (right).
Bumper, waffle dial... what's not to like? How does this work around here? Is there an appropriate amount of time to wait for the OP to buy the watch before someone would buy it themselves?
Just my thoughts. I'd suggest the OP to click. For an EU citizen, customs apply, but for a US resident it's a steal.
Thoughts on the case? It looks like it might be a little bit rough, but I'm not well rehearsed on how much it would affect value.
