Evening gents, the seller of this watch says it is "100% ORIGINAL". When I contacted him raising doubts about the dial, he replied "I honestly believe that the dial is original, it has not been restored". Could Omega vintage experts please give their opinion on the matter? http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=232040671111Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Thanks and best regards, S
It's all OK, he just put the "not" in the wrong place, common mistake for a person whose first language isn't English. There, fixed it for him. "I honestly believe that the dial is not original, it has been restored". (I mean, look at that f'n subdial )
The sub is artwork next to the "A" in OMEGA! What a joke! Thanks for the laugh, Syrte, offer him Spanish olives.
Thanks gents for your kind replies. I will let the seller know. In fairness to his watch, it's worth at least a nicer redial. I will offer him "kalamatas" (Greek olives), in honor of his great "kalimera" watch ("Kalimera" meaning "good day" in Greek, as "kalos" means good nice, beautiful. It's a change from baklava but staying in the Greek theme).
An update, the seller has now specified on the ad that the dial "may have been restored". Thanks for your good services to the unsuspecting public
There are smudges all over frankly-- the whole thing is quite blatant and not even a close case. But since the seller, who says he's a collector of 25 years, was so adamant, I thought the matter deserved to be aired in public. Nothing like sunshine...
