Hi everyone, new to OF, and pleased to be here 😎

What are your opinions on the following piece? It appears to have the right bezel, dial, hands (including drop-shaped), case/back/cover, flat-foot crown, a clear crystal (but unsure if it's original), and a matching serial.

However, the bezel has a dent near 10 o'clock. And the lume seems to have been stabilized at some point, or worst case, perhaps relumed (although perhaps not since the hands are empty?).

So, how much do you think these flaws detract from its overall appeal? I am looking for decent, wearable 321 (not necessarily collectible quality), that will maintain enough desirability if I am able to trade up in the future. Dare I ask - what would anyone out there be happy to pay for this piece (still trying to decide on the right price for myself, if you don't think I should run, haha)?

Thank you in advance!

appeal is extremely subjective. So I can’t tell you what appeals to you, but that is probably a watch that will never see my wrist (unless it was cheap enough that I could forgive the flaws)

True, but hearing the opinions of experts and their reasons helps me as a newbie to vintage/Speedmasters refine my own perspective, so thanks!

Hello,
Like as already been said judgements about a vintage piece is really subjective
If decent means whatever it takes and the price is in line with this, then go for it

In my opinion it's a very nice watch as it is but of course the price it's very important..😀 and can make the watch desirable or not..😀

PS is it primarily the dial lume or other flaws that turn you away the most?

So I don't think it's been relumed - there are way too many chunks of lume missing. To me it's attractive, but I only own a single '76 speedy. I've definitely seen worse. The case looks pretty decent with sharp facets. At $6K this is a pretty strong buy. At $13K this is a "no way".

How about at $7-8k? And would you do anything to the dial or hand lume?

I also don’t think it’s relumed.

It’s an honest, wearable vintage Speedmaster in fair condition. I’d say price should be more like $6k. Maybe slightly higher. It’s not an 8k watch.

Out of curiosity, did you pull the trigger on this piece or pass?
I did not. I decided to sell some other things so have freed up more cash for this purchase, so I'm still looking for one in a bit better condition : )
