This neat Nivada Fiber Star II came in today in a box-o-watches. Auto rotor had fallen off with the screws in some precarious places. Crystal was toast. Easy fix BUT is a nice 21 jewel ETA 2782. Keeping very good time. Put the ETA in the parts bin? or keep it as a watch?
In my stash of donor and project watches, I probably have a dozen or so of those movements. So donor movements are usually plentiful. How badly do you need a/another watch in your collection, or b/another donor movement waiting for a project. Pretty much your decision.
It's a pretty ugly watch, but would probably bring 20-30 euros on auction. But if you need the parts...
How much do you appreciate '70s funk? I can see the appeal, but if it's not your style then you won't wear it.
Yep. Movement brings the same as the complete watch on ebay. I don't have an immediate need for the movement but it's better than anything in the parts bin
It looks like a Speedmaster Mk2 crossed with a Seamaster Deep Blue. Not my style but much too nice to junk IMO.
