I think it is an ok value since it looks to be in good (but restored) condition and it has a 90 day warranty. I wouldn't buy a restored watch though.

Thanks - I've just started looking. I know it is sort of this style i am looking for - but i am kind of thinking the same. When you get a vintage watch - it shouldn't be restored. What is the difference from a "seamaster" and a "seamaster deville"?

There are degrees, a full service is appropriate, cleaning is a must, polishing the crystal is completely acceptable, replacing the crown if its incorrect or damaged is fine as long as a correct original part is sourced. Depending on the collector value of the watch, whether its a daily wear piece or not, and what condition the case is in, some light polishing or case work may be appropriate (example a Speedmaster MK2 that's had its brushed finish polished at some point being rebrushed is justifiable).

Jesper, I moved your post as the other thread is only for recommended watches, not opinions

Seamaster DeVilles generally have one piece cases that open in the front, but not always.

Take a look at this old UK catalog for some examples of both:

    Hope this helps,

Thanks a lot - very informative. Now the hunt can begin:)

Still a little confused if I prefer a restored or not. Definitely Silver/white - as big as possible and a the same look as the link on ebay.
