Hello all,

New to the forum here. Very happy find you and thank you very much in advance for any help you’re able to offer in evaluating this piece. Vintage watch buying can be a minefield as you know so your collective expertise is truly priceless.

On to the matter at hand. I’m considering this handsome 1966 Seamaster 600 reference 135011 for sale from a dealer in the U.K. It’s listed as 34mm, movement is cal. 601, 17 jewels. Comes regulated, dealer says it’s running well. Asking price is 1350 GBP (fair?).

This looks beautiful to me, but as I’m new to the world of vintage Omegas I’d love to learn more if I could from those who know. So if there’s anything amiss here I’d be grateful for any input!

All the best
Eric

I like the look of the watch, but the price is perhaps a touch optimistic 🙄

Given that it’s a desirable black dial, the watch might be something to consider at half the price.

Price is a Joke, for 700 pounds it would be a fair deal.👍 The Watch is fine.

I think it’s overpriced but, on the other hand, if you really like it and can afford it, on the basis that it’s a 54 year old watch in nice condition and you might have difficulty finding a nicer cheaper one............ 😉

Many thanks to you all! I will see what flexibility the seller has on the price. Be well.

Just checked the serial. It's 100% my old watch.

It's a lovely watch. I just found it was slightly too small for me with its sporty look.

So Davidt we have a very rare opportunity on our hands. How did you like your old watch? How did it come into your hands? 😀

Ah just saw your reply. This is also something I’m considering as well. 34mm is on the diminutive side for my watch collection. But I know that’s the common dimension for these older pieces.

Great watch, not commonly seen with that dial. But, it simultaneously had aspects of both sports watch (dial) and dressier watch (size). My wrist is around 7.75" and I just couldn't make it work.

I kept it for a while just in my box as I liked the aesthetic so much but ended up selling it as a piece offering to the missus after some other incomings.

Ultimately, if you can easily wear 34mm watches, it's great. Just not perhaps at quite that price.

Thanks so much for the input man. You all have been very helpful here my first day on the forum. I’ll be coming back often. Cheers.
