I have determined (after a minor, perhaps deserved, beating) that it is not a redial. Overall, I like it. I have not seen the case back nor movement. The seller suggests meeting at a watch makers shop to open for inspection before buying. It is caliber 561.

Assuming the movement and reference check out and it is good condition, is this specimen worth the asking price of USD $1500?

IMO it's pushing the limit but just about justifiable if the movement is in good condition and you want that reference.

I have a similar one.(see below) No date window. I think @Edward53 said it best. If you are buying from a dealer/jewelry store you’ll pay a premium. A790A6F3-0FB3-4D9A-B36A-24FFAA249C69.jpeg
OP has the better crown. And the date complication. I’d like to see the movement.

Good catch on the date. I thought that photos looked different the last time I looked at the ad. Just checked now and they all have dates. The seller is not a dealer, but he does have a large collection and seems to buy/sell frequently. Borderline dealer I suppose.

The dial seems to line up and looks authentic. Mine was polished. That one is more vintage appearing.
    Love a good constellation.

I'll agree that the price is pushing it somewhat, as these 14.393's are a fair bit cheaper than 14.902s and the later 168.005's due to the "unfashionable" lug design. IMO, they wear a bit better than those two references and I like the bezel design more, too. I have 3-4 14.XXX's with the same overall design and they are amongst my favourite Constellation references. Subtract $200 for a BoR and that leaves $1300 for the watch - a bit too much for my liking, but not criminally so.

@snunez, you seem to be a bit uncertain about the date aspect? The reference @Tik-Tok of Oz shows is a 14.381, the one you have been offered is a 14.393 - his will have a cal. 551 under the bonnet, yours a 561 as you say.

It’s a good looking case - still quite sharp
(I’m with @ConElPueblo as to how nicely this reference wears)
But the dial isn’t so much aged as ‘grubby’ -so doesn't do much for me
The BOR is nice bonus but be aware it is quite stretched.

I can't tell you that I saw a similar model to a better price but in my opinion the price it's a little to high. My advice is to keep looking..

I go along with @ConElPueblo about these wearing better. I have never understood the fascination for dogleg lugs but each to their own. Here on the left (obviously) is my 551 in 14381 case, which to me looks similar if not identical to the 14393. I'll get a 5-row BOR for it one day.

Here’s my 168.005 with extract which cost around £1100 retail in UK this year, now on BOR 230CD9B7-0EB0-44F4-9AF0-3689EB8F314F.jpeg

    That's a completely different model with a 505 or maybe even a 501 movement.

Correct, it is a 505 in a 2852 95C case from c. 1957. I included it because this is my best photo of the 551 and I was too lazy to trim it out. ;)
