Hello everybody, I am about to buy a speedmaster mark III, not knowing this model, I need your opinion. The watch loses 1 at 2 minutes by days. all parts are original? The price 800 euros. Is it a good deal? Thank you in advance
Hey. Case: The case looks to have been very heavily polished/worn - its lost all of its sharp edges, even the lip around the crystal. Dial/bezel/hands: very good. Movement service is going to run to €600 from Omega/or someone like STS. At €800 this watch is cheap, but by the time you're into it for service costs, even if you can get the case repaired, this is still a €1200-€1500 watch. You need to decide if you're happy with that. Or would rather spend €1500-€2000 and get a good one.
Its a fair price if you plan to use it as a everyday beater, the case is pretty beat up and these movements are complex and expensive to repair if anything is out of order. I love the dial and also the design, but its a hard watch to wear-its about as high as wide. Try it before you buy it. Here is mine. Cost for it was before restoration was about 1500euros. Best john
Yes - if you buy it, take it to someone who has an omega parts account and knows what they're doing. Just be aware this will always be a very rough mk3, in a market where demand for very good mk3's is low. Personally, I think your money is better spent elsewhere.
