Hi. I need some advice please. I was about to pull the trigger on this beauty, but then noticed that the hour markers are not lining up with the indices. Could this just be the angle of the photo?
Looks fine to me. Getting reflections so hard to tell. Would be nice to have a movement shot to see if it has the gold-colored rotor that the chronometer 431's are supposed to have. That band should have a clasp with a raised Longines flying hourglass as well. My avatar has an example as well, similar to Hijak's above.
This will not have the cal. 431, it will have a cal. 6651... These are from a little later, like 1972ish.
Good call. I failed to notice the painted-on Longines logo as opposed to the slightly earlier raised/applied one like my 431 and my 285 Flagship from the late 60's both have.
My cal. 431 has the applied "Longines" as well... Most of these applied "Longines" watches that I've seen were from ~1967, what about yours?
Mine is from 1969 as per Longines: It is a cal. 431. The chronometer models with applied metal logo were available in the catalog through at least 1972: gatorcpa
