Opinion on company names/logos on vintage watches

Hi all,

I've found a nearly-mint vintage omega watch to buy, but on the dial there is printed the company name. The print is unobtrusive and small, and to be honest this is the only thing is stopping me to buy the watch.
I would buy the watch for my collection and to wear it...

I'll be happy to hear from you experts/collectors what you think about this ... presence on the dial (only there).

Thanks in advance to all those would like to contribute!

Depends. If it says "Meister", I'd be fine with that. If it says "Domino's" not so much.

Also: pictures always help. 馃榾

T眉rler is great. Famous jeweller in Zurich, had several prestigious watches personalised with the shop鈥檚 name.

From. Patek , Audemars, Vacheron, Rolex, Omega etc

+1. Still prefering a cleaner dial without it, but if the watch is something special, I wouldn't not buy it for the co-branding alone.

Well, T眉rler opened 150 years ago, first in Biel, then Zurich Paradenplatz. The most famous shop is in Banhofstrasse, worth visiting even just for the super complicated clock on display

the clock was ordered by T眉rler in the eighties from Dr Ludwig Oechslin, the famous movement designer who collaborated with Ulysses Nardin and then opened his own Maison. It was built by J枚rg Sp枚ring, one of his teachers.

PS: Just told that the clock in 2018 has been moved to the International Museum of Horology in La Chaux-de-Fonds

Overall, I'd say that people tend to like these double-branded watches signed by the retailer (Turler, Meister, Tiffany, etc.). Promotional dials with other company names are sometimes less desirable, although it seems like they are becoming more popular. Even those stupid Dominos Rolex watches are selling at high prices now, although perhaps people buy them to swap out the dials.

I think we had this discussion recently somewhere else. I'd say, not a reason to turn down, but definitely don't pay a premium for it, either. Congrats on your purchase. And I always take the opportunity to post mine 馃榿.
