I’m looking at buying the below Seamaster and everything checks out, however the dial is throwing me. It’s marked with Ts but has no lume in the hands or markers. Other examples I’ve seen have lume dots at the hours markers and small sections of lume on the hands.

Is this a very good redial? Is it a known variation? Have the ands been replaced and the lume dots removed?

    Hello David

Unless the crystal / angle is distorting the view

    I think thats a redial

Both the 'M' s in AUTOMATIC, & CHRONOMETER......look seriously off, to me

The rotor position image in the auction, is conveniently covering the text on the 564 movement

I would expect to see what text there is,..... in a slightly different position ?...and to include the usual 'positions & temperature'. text ?

Looks very much like a redial to me too. I’ve got one which I’m looking at right now. Dial has small lime pips that are quite hard to see and different hands

Always a chance that there might be several variations so wait for others to chime in. Text looks very dark compared to mine

The M definitely looks dodgy and the text looks thicker than I would expect.

The seller is fine though. It’s one of the bulk sellers out of Japan who sell high volume but don’t always get the descriptions correct and often miss a redial/Franken.

And the lack of text / text position on a Chronometer Movement ?

    Very good point.

So looking like either a complete franken with redial or a watch that perhaps had water damage resulting in a redial and incorrect movement parts?

Judging by the markers alone I would say its a redial. Look at the spacing between the 20 min baton and 21 min marker then look at the gap between the 29 min marker and the 30 min baton.

Dead giveaway to me as a redial is the “m” in Seamaster. A proper cursive “m” has three humps

Thanks to all who've commented. I finally viewed this on a large screen rather than an iPhone and it much more apparent now.

    Shame.
