This was a gift. It is my first Omega, thus my lack of knowledge. From what I can tell it's a 145.022-69, seems to be all original. The watch runs great. The dial is immaculate with the nice chocolate color. Bezel is worn down, and there is corrosion on the top and bottom pushers, top functions but bottom does not. The watch was stored in a beach house since it was purchased. I can repost a picture of the movement later but it looks amazing. Just curious as to a value? General servicing cost? Maybe replacement of the pushers? The caseback is the engraved Hippocampus, with speedmaster. Unsure if the picture will load so here's the imgur url. http://imgur.com/rGYfnVX
https://omegaforums.net/threads/bezel-madness-worst-speedmaster-bezel-on-ebay.24257/ A thread a week or so ago!
Watch looks good except for the bezel. Im sure the experts here will recommend a proper service and cleaning of the movement.
But on yours one can at least still see that it was not a DNN bezel. BTW, you should upload your pics to the forum, they have enough storage space. That saves all of us from these undesirable threads one knows from other fora, where you can't follow a thread any longer after a few month or years, because all the pics are long gone.
In terms of bezel quality i think mine the lesser of the two. I like the meteor bezel term. Sounds profound.
Other than the slightly worn bezel it looks like a nice watch you have on your hands. A service and thorough cleaning will leave you a great looking Speedmaster. That's not a meteor style. It's definitely a DNN Buckshot Bezel.
Take a look at http://speedmaster101.com/ for value. I have an 861 that's due for a service and I'm considering sending it to RGM http://www.rgmwatches.com/.
Thanks Jim, that guide convinced me to invest in attempting to restore this watch. I think I will keep the bezel as is for now, birdshot bezel sounds cool to me, but replace the pushers and a light polish and maintenance.
Guess what my friend? You hit the jackpot! That's a Brown dial 1969, and they fetch a healthy premium! Serial is 2963xxxx which FITS into the Brown dial run And other than the bezel, it looks to be in REAL nice shape
Pushers should be fine just dirst and grime build up. Replace the seals inside and it should be good to go unless there is indeed corrosion present
