    I have come across this one on and was wondering opinions on condition. It looks OK but I am no expert to know if the dial has been restored or not etc, if the mechanism looks right, etc. They are asking $500, which perhaps might be a bit much.

    My opinion: redial.
    The cross hair is too thick. The Automatic and Seamaster script is not right and the base paint is just too fresh for a 50 year old watch.

    I'd vote redial too, the crosshair looks like it goes through the wrong part of the E

    Agree & also, I feel this watch is more like mid-late 1960s. That said, if you can find another example with an original dial--not that hard, really--in good original condition, these are great bang for the buck. The Chronometer version is extra special.

    Just pointing out its all been cleaned, but bridge and rotor look different colours to the rest of the movement and so probably didn't begin life together...
