Flipping through the channels one day I saw one for sale with a 15 slot case for like $200. Considered getting it solely for the case but could bring myself to get it
But retail value is $607. At $129, it's a freaking awesome bargain. Sad to say, but the watch that lead me here was an Invicta.
Like wearing a small, very ugly TV on your wrist.....and back by demand begs the question, who's demand?
I think those watches would wear great if you were Andre the Giant or a pimp. That said, the one the OP purchased seems rather reserved compared to most Invictas I have seen.
You just wanted something chunky and masculine yet elegant and complicated. You just didn't know where to look...
I like that you were so disgusted with this that you used that as your first post. In a few years if we do another retrospective, that'll be a classic.
I am not a fan of Invicta - but the 8926 isn't too bad of a watch - hacking, handwinding Seiko movement these days. Used to be a rock solid Miyota in previous incarnations. Would be a whole hell of a lot better if it didn't have "INVICTA" engraved on the side of the case. At the price I paid ($10) it can't be beat. Well okay, it can be beat - it makes a great beater for doing yardwork, etc. Additionally you can remove the stupid cyclops by hitting it with one of those micro-torches for a couple seconds. Even at regular price of $80 it's a more substantial watch than a comparably priced Seiko 5.
"BACK BY DEMAND" Hahahaha! I think they mean they were returned due to defects and the boss demanded they be "reconditioned" and sold instead of thrown in the dumpster where they belong.
So I thought the screen cap of the Invicta was funny. Next time I'll be more specific as to what I thought was funny so not to make you feel obligated to point out that such an innocent, and off the cuff remark such as LOL is worthy of an inaugural post Mr. Tiny. +1 on the bargain!! It even looks like 6 different watches harmoniously integrated into 1 =) I'm also a proud owner of an Invicta that a friend sold me. Sadly he's still my friend loll
