These things are never planned, but man, that's the fun part! Ed now has a younger brother. Saw it and had to have it. 105.012-66CB with razor sharp lugs, an immaculate dial, and a military history! Came with original purchase papers by a lieutenant in the medical corps. Normally I think engravings take something away from the pureness of the watch, but given the military history and tasteful subtlety in the engraving, I plan to leave it as is. Enjoy a few pics!
Whoa, major score, congratulations. I agree on the engraving, most I've seen ultimately detract from the piece, in this case, its part of the history and wouldn't be right without it. Having the papers is equally amazing.
Looks fantastic, especially that sharp case! I thought the caseback for these was double stepped? Regardless, lovely watch, wear in good health!
Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. The Speedy gods have been very nice to me in the past seven months, no doubt. That said, the collection is currently a bit Speedy-heavy so I'll probably have to even it out with a couple other purchases this year [cut to my wife shaking her head].
