It is often hard to obtain a truly original watch. One of the problems is that we do not get to see the watch in its confirmed original state.

So here is a lovely watch, that I believe to be 100% original.

    Small03.JPG

Note the marked crystal, the dirty pushers and the very dirty bracelet.

When it arrived, the end pieces had rotated, perhaps as someone tried to remove the single rod release spring bars.

So the ends of the bracelet will need attention. The bracelet is marked 1039 and 4/69. I will order an extract and see how the dates match.

The back is also dirty, Ill open it later for a peek inside.

Is that blackish stuff at 6 and 12 o'clock the feared gasket goo or just mildewy DNA?

William - what would you recommend on addressing that pin hole hour hand? Have it re secured (glued) or leave it as is? Any concerns with possible further flaking?

What an absolute beauty. No substitute for a lack of preparation prior to sale.

With this kind of cheese, some DNA forensics might be possible to confirm the „one owner“ thing :D

    Really nice find

Lovely, good to see that it’s even possible to catch the 69ers in such a good shape.

With the DON bezel you should check the serial number, may the speedy is within the brown serial range and you get lucky twice ;)

Some polywatch on the glass and it seems like bought new in boutique. Compliments!
