Thank you, SeaMSTR. It was owing to your thread that I first posted on OF, full of excitement about what turned out to be a frankenwatch... very grateful for that escape! You realize of course that I know next to nothing, but that said I did come across this one on eBay, offered as a BIN for $549 (but open to best offer). From a Japanese seller with a good feedback record. Unfortunately the photos are not great, plus there is no image of the mechanism. But perhaps worth asking to see one? (And many apologies in advance if this is in fact a poor suggestion.)

Here is the listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284315245546?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
Thanks for the heads up. I shall have a look at the listing.

And here it is! I am beyond happy with this watch... it looks so cool and modern that I can't believe it's over 50 years old. Big thank you to everyone on OF who guided me through the process of buying my first vintage watch, especially SeaMSTR, connieseamaster, Archer, S.H., JwRosenthal, and ahartfie. I will treasure this thing.

Congratulations! It looks like a good example. Case is good, with nice bevels. If possible can you post some closer shots of the case/dial etc. Will help with other people鈥檚 research (including mine!) into this reference馃榾.

As they say on here-wear it in good health!

OK -- I tried with my camera. Not sure these are much better. This watch is amazing, btw. I'm obsessed!
