On the quest for a Vintage Omega

Just a quick Hi,

Been on the sideline for a while, reading the various posts, threads and trying my best to understand basic knowledge on the do's and don'ts, fake and authentic Omega's, redials and originals, etc etc. Never knew it is such a minefield but enjoying the learning and so far in the hunt, my quest to acquire a Vintage Omega.

Spotting discrepancies, issues already with the valuable knowledge I have learnt from this forum, of which I say thanks.

In no rush to purchase so just cruising the Private sales here, Chrono and Ebay mainly European sales to gain an understanding of the Vintage world and what I actually want, which over the past few weeks I have found has changed numerous times, you know how it is, and your budget seems to creep up.

Seems very scary out there, plenty of unscrupulous characters so hopeful with the knowledge I learn and help from the forum I hopefully can commence my journey with some small amount of success on my first purchase.

Well, welcome, you've come to the right place. I salute you for your patience and once you've decided what you're into and want some people to check if your research makes sense, you know where to ask 😀

Welcome to this forum. This is a great place to learn stuff, but also to refine your tastes. I have seen mine evolve a lot since I joined. Check out the WRUW (what are you wearing) threads to get some ideas on the wrist!

Happy reading!

In addition to the private watch sales forum, check out the offerings from @nanjingcigaretes (as an example) in the Watches For Sale forum.

Do your diligence of course. Questions about a for sale post are best done by pm to the seller, or in a separate thread

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place where to start learning about vintage watches in general and Omega of course. Although I will say it can also be very dangerous given all the collections some members have and post here. You might be soon getting into an addiction 😉
