    Hello OF!

What suggestions do you have for a "beater"? Here are features that are important to me.

    - water resistant for light diving, snorkeling, baby bath time (basically would like a 200m or larger depth rating because I like that number)
    - excellent lume
    - rotating bezel
    - 42mm or under
    - not a seiko, you all probably know I love seiko, but I'm looking to branch out for this watch
    - sub $1000 either new or used

I've come across some watches that are good candidates, but interested in your thoughts and suggestions. Thank you!

Used Oris Aquis would be my suggestion.

Thanks! Had been looking at this one too. Any experience with it? I recently had an Oris 65 40mm and found the lume to be quite lacking. The aquis is a tad chunky for me at 43mm.

I didn't think vixtorinox made a non quartz watch. Which model are you thinking?

The atmos 50 was at the top of the list until I read the lume was lacking and thinly applied.

Oh bugger me. Mmmm, if you want some sick lume, then sounds like you need a 114060 :p

but on a more serious note, considered Halioswatches? I read good things about them on IG, almost got one myself... but didn't feel it after a while.

The halios Seaforth is at the top of my current list, but they're sold out and I'm looking on the forums. If anyone has experience with halios would appreciate your thoughts!

Thanks for the suggestion. Nice and simple wish it had a rotating bezel.

The 42mm might be right up my alley. Don't know anything about this brand, gonna read up.

I think that watch doesn't have a rotating bezel right? Edit - never mind that one does! If I can find one under 1k that'd be awesome.

Well made, well presented and a great guy to deal with. Had a MONA Pacific, would buy one again but moved on to a 1000m Certina DS3 and moved on all my dive watches

They hold their value really well, but you should be able to find one mint used for 1k or under.

    Divemaster series. Also
i own the divemaster 500 Mechanical. It’s my sailing and paddling beater. That and others can be had for under a grand. ETA movements, great cases and finishing. Can’t go wrong.

The Orient Mako USA II would tick all those boxes, as would several other watches from their diver line (Triton, M-Force) if you don't mind a slightly larger case.
