Hello. I just want to know if http://www.authenticwatches.com sells authentic watches or am I taking a risk buying from them. They seem to have good prices.

Usually I don't trust any business with a name like "Quality Furniture" to have quality furniture, "Reliable Appliance" to have reliable appliances, or "Authentic Watches" to have authentic watches...... but this is the exception to the rule. They've been around a long time and do sell authentic brand name watches, but remember they're grey market and can't offer a factory warranty. You can often get the same watch from an AD for the same or nearly the same price.

I´ve been on a large trip this month (almost the hole month) and been looking at the Seamaster professional diver 300 chronograph in all the places I´ve visited, specially the "Duty Free" stores and the cheapest price I´ve found for it is $3,800-$3,850 depending on the exchange rate of the local currency. This guys sell the exact same watch for $3,295. It´s a 12% discount. It´s not that much, but I´m not against saving 500 bucks.

Print out the page and take it to an AD - not a boutique. An aggressive dealer will work with you.

I would contact George here, Kringkily and ask him what he can do for you before dealing with authenticwatches

Didn't this web site get discussed a couple of weeks ago when a new "member" appeared, with the avatar of some pretty young girl, saying "buy your girlfriend's present from here"? IIRC, they got a slating.

Not sure if it was them but it was someone, see the thing is a lot of companies hire SEO / SEM companies without knowing what they do or what they entail, just that they promise "To get you to the top of google". The SEO/SEM company then go on forums like this one and spam to try to uprank the dealer's website, we actually had to notify a very very old family jeweller with a very good reputation in the southern US that a firm they'd hired was doing that.

Prices don't look that great to me, given that the US is generally cheaper to buy in than the UK anyway. Their Speedy Pro comes in at about £2173 and I recently bought brand new, from a AD with a full warranty for £2300 or so.

I am sure you could get a similar price from an AD with a little work, and then you'll have the warranty and get to pick the watch up, not have it posted to you.
