As some may know me here, I rarely sell - only buy. This is an occasion where I am letting one go to fund a replacement. I bought this some years ago - before my knowledge of Connies was enhanced by Desmond's excellent site. I wanted a Constellation dress watch, gold arrowhead markers, steel case. And this was what I found.A good example that I havee worn many times. Of course I know now that this is a redial - probably some years ago - but a redial never the less and priced as such I hope. It benefits from a service back in December last year at my US Omega-certified watch shop (no paperwork now but can get proof of this later).

It is winding smoothly, running well and keeping excellent time. SO there should be no issues there. Lets go through it in more detail:
CASE. Steel, drilled lugs. Overall very clean for nearly 70 years old, with nicks, scratches but nothing glaring to the naked eye. Bezel has chamfers so I would say not overpolished.
CASEBACK - polished but six stars still visible and you can just make out CONSTELLATION and a rather worn WATERPROOF, under a loupe. Press-on of course, with correct stamps etc to inner.
CROWN - large serrated with Naaid centre. This is probably a replacement - others more knowledgable will be able to confirm.
MOVEMENT- serviced last year, with 14m serial indicating 1954. Bumper moving with a satisfying but quiet thud but actually rarely noticeable on the wrist.
DIAL and hands - matt silver but can look cream in certain lights with gold arrowhead markers. A redial for sure but a good one I think and the more obvious things only come to light under magnification. Hands are gold. non-lume. I believe original but again not totally sure.
STRAP: I have this currently on a very old strap which I will be keeping but the buyer will have a choice of an unworn green or lightly worn brown with white stitching.

SUMMARY - A serviced example of a lovely old steel-cased Connie that wears very well, looks great, is accurate and a Bumper to boot. If you are looking for a nice vintage dress watch then you just found it. I think the price is fair for a clean serviced example but if I am way out then let me know. I hope this will go to a fellow collector on the forum.

PRICE was $1300/GBP1000 REDUCED T0 US$1000 /gbp770 delivered in US (USPS) or UK (RMSD). Payment by US bank transfer, PayPal FnF or UK bank transfer. Watch is currently with me in USA (NY for collection) and I will be in UK in September so can post from Cambridge (again collection possible).

Note I am not a great photographer - these are on an iPhone. I can take more if required. I am sure there are references for me somewhere on this forum. Not sure where! Feel free to PM with any questions.

I am not qualified to comment on the price, but as a redail most here would plan to source an original dial. So you are selling a project, which could turn people off. I think you would get more than a return on investment if you replaced the dial. Just my 2¢

I’m not sure I agree.

Although on OF we’re probably all ‘collectors', some of us want only original and some, a nice bit of wrist candy for wearing.

I’m in the latter category, I’d happily wear it as it is, redial or not, because I think it’s a lovely looking watch.

(And without re-hashing the old argument, if it were a restored and refurbished old car .......... )

And, if it doesn’t sell on this website, I’m sure it will on another
