Dear all, with a BIN of $ 49'000 this seems a little pricey to me. Am I wrong or am I missing something? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171124834193&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:3160Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Thanks and best regards, Andy
Meister print will not add high premium, since it does not correlate to anything valuable to Speedmaster history. It would be different if it is automotive related (A.C.P for example), sport related, military related or the best of all: space related. So either the seller misplaced one zero or he is smoking high. Even the watch doesn't have the match bracelet of that era and the condition is not mint (or even very good).
Why only 49K$ ?? I would list it for 1,000,000$ ;-) Anyone can list for whatever he pleases. The question is whether he is interested in selling anytime soon.
instead of that id rather buy this http://www.ebay.com/itm/181215453740?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Thanks for all your answers. Yes of course any pricetag can be put to anything. Why not 49'000'000 instead? In the end it is the same to me: I would not think of buying it! But back to the 2998-1: Is that one a real good one?
I think its a modern "reedition" dial that someone (rather successfully imho) relumed sorta yellowish.
yep radium doesn't turn into that yellowish but more brown. That's the one key give away from people redoing things unless they get a hold of aging radium... 0_o
Tthe dial is likely a later replacement dial and the seller knows it. Obviously it was him who only recently bought it in an ebay BIN auction (with another bezel)from Germany with the description, that the dial is probably a later replacement part. Obviously he trys to make more of it not saying that, though knowing it better... Actually it looks like he is a memeber in this forum, as he presents exactly this watch here : http://omegaforums.net/threads/my-collection.3721/ with this link: http://themasterofspeed.tumblr.com/
I've already done: complete service, found a correct crown and change the bezel. I sell it to buy another Omega. not for just for passion.
re: the 2998-1 but this picture is confusing me a bit? I thought the new "reissue" dials were made to fit the narrower silver inner ring? or are there different silver rings? or what dial is it?
No Niklas, strangly they do not fit the silver ring rehauts Which need a little more narrow print on the dial. Like here on the pic the dial is printed too large for the silver ring and therefore is covered too much.
