Inherited this beautiful, valuable watch. It hasn`t been worn since the '60s so probably needs cleaning. Where should I get this done? Also want to know how best to treat it, but I want to wear it. It has a gold band which I will have reattached. Does anyone know which artisan created this dial. Found similar dial with different colors in an IWC watch article. Also how do I determine its value for insurance purposes. Thank you for your help.

Well, we need a bit more than that I think.

I'll wait.

[sarcasm] I ♥️ n00bs! [/sarcasm] Particularly the ones who don't post pictures and think a few words of description is all that's needed.

That looks like Jahn's work. Some people confuse Sig's work with Jahn's, but if you look at the flourishes near the 2 and 3-o'clock markers you can see the distinctive brush strokes that define Jahn's style. He was the best of the best, and the world lost a treasure when he tragically passed in that accident with the moose.

(yes, pictures would help A LOT 😁)

If some of you were really the savants you're purported to be, you would know from a description.

The title of the thread dragged me in just to be disappointed by no pictures. Sigh.

I agree Jahn will definitely be missed by all , I think he may have painted the dial in his latter " Naïve period" just before he went off the boil & took up house painting , which in turn is how he fell into the gutter with Sig .

I inherited a car that was parked in a barn for 50 years. There is a picture of a horse on it.

Can you give me the value and tell me where I can have it fixed?

Nah, it's a Ford and, therefore, totally unfixable. Not worth the effort. Just send me the keys to the barn and I'll take care of it for you.

Is the horse prancing or running? 😉

The watch is a stunner, I'll give you that. Yes, it does need a cleaning; the movement has obvious signs of wear and dried oils. Have a watchmaker do the work. Treat it kindly; don kid gloves whilst wearing. The name of the dial maker was Klaus N. Aye. Well known for these type of dials. It's worth $2,864.00. Hope this helps.

I'd like to see that picture. How did the horse get on the car, in the first place? I would think horseshoes on a metal car would be very slippery.

Maybe in it, not on it?

Was he wearing a Steedmaster?
No, but he lives on the Ranchero!
