I’ve heard Manhattan Time Service is good. I’m from Long Island and that’s where my 60s Seamaster Deville is going to. They aren’t specifically Omega, but I believe they are Omega certified.

There have been many threads asking this exact question including one in the past couple of weeks where I posted a bunch of links. It can be effective to use google and restrict the search domain to omegaforums.

I've been looking for this info too- I did check out all of those links @Dan S but nobody seemed to come to a consensus on a good reccomendation...If anyone can authoritatively give a good reccomendation I would really appreciate it.

I'm not sure it's realistic to expect there to be a consensus for a single good watchmaker in NYC. If there are first-hand specific recommendations from experienced collectors, I'd take those seriously.

Oh I totally get what you're saying- It's just hard to know who to trust when you want to be sure your watch is going into safe hands and the big NYC watchmakers have both good and bad recommendations on OF depending on who you ask.

You should follow up with DMs. Otherwise this is just one more thread like the others, with anecdotes and mixed opinions. And you can research the people who are giving the opinions; some may be more credible than others. Also, it's helpful to provide more details about yourself, the watch, and what is wrong with it. That could motivate people to want to help you out.

I'm a longtime collector and longtime New Yorker who has learned many hard and valuable lessons about trying to get vintage watches serviced in NYC, mostly Rolexes but some Omegas. Do yourself a favor and send the watch to a vintage specialist like LAWW, Bob Ridley, Archer or another well-regarded watchmaker. That's what I do now, and I certainly cannot recommend Grand Central Watches.

Thanks for the input- yea I think I will do the same. Not worth running into any issues with unexperienced watchmakers...

@Dan S I actually did ask for some help with details the other day but no takers on a watchmaker recomendation- I was advised to find a watchmaker with more specific experience with vintage Omegas- will probably just send it away to a well known specialist as @swish77 suggested.

Please avoid Manhattan Time Services unless you like to overpay and want your vintage parts replaced with service parts.
