can anyone tell me if this is a "fake" case? do all omega cases come with reference numbers?

Case doesn't look like an original omega case to me and dial is a poorly done redial.

A purist would run from this watch. If you want a cool looking old watch with an authentic movement, go for it. The 265 movement has value but I don't see this watch ever increasing in $. Untouched Omegas are going up. Franken's stay pretty flat. Movement is from 1947. Dial is re-finished. Case is scary clean. Nice strap ;-)

Yes they did, but I sincerely doubt this is one of them, markings simply don't look correct nor does the style of the case.

Looks like a newly made case with fake markings.

Not swiss cases which will have a 4-6 digit case reference number from the late 40s or so and a 7-8 digit number distinct from the movement serial number before that.
