A friend of a friend has found an Omega watch in at the Albert Dock, Liverpool, England.

It has a long service award engraving on the back so obviously was awarded as a gift.

It has been shared on Facebook and a couple of other forums for maximum coverage.

That's very public spirited of you. Looks like the springbar gave in to old age.
I hope the owner is re-united with his watch.
Did you inform the lost property department at the local copshop in case it has been reported as lost?

It looks like the person who lost the watch has been found. There have been posters put on telephone polls detailing a sentimental omega has fallen off some ones wrist. It provided a telephone number so I have forwarded the details to the gentleman who found it. I'll update you with the result!

Nice one Richie. It restores your faith in human nature - unlike some scrote we had on here last year who had found a lady's watch and wanted to know how much he could sell it for.

Good things happen to good people.

Thank you for your kind words gents. I should find out the result of the phone call at some point today. I really hope that it is the watch they're looking for!

I will of course stick around :) I don't own an omega yet though!

It's common decency! Watches of that calibre are the result of hard work and / or significant achievement and I imagine it would be heartbreaking to lose one. I would hope some one would do the same for me if I'm never lost a luxury watch that I worked hard for!

Yes the owner has been found! It was the person who put up the poster!

The owner was a student who was given the watch as a graduation present from his father. He knew what the engraving said word for word and had pictures of him wearing it, he also had the paper work for the watch too. He is getting it back this Sunday.

    Extremely happy with the result!

This is awesome. Well done on finding the owner. This story is also a reminder about the importance of having good solid spring bars!
