Forgot to mention: Rolex made some watches with "gold linen" dials in the 1960's. Not quite as nice as solid gold, but still looks pretty nice.

You are amongst illustrious company. What I notice from correspondence from blog readers is that younger aficionados love the C-Shape, particularly those in their 20s and 30s. Nice to see that fresh eyes see something very different that our older and perhaps more jaundiced retinas register. (sorry for the alliteration)
