If any of you are considering purchasing an Omega watch, now would be the time... especially if the item you are considering is part of the Vault Series. This is an Omega directed price reduction...in some cases massive reductions. Case in point; I had purchased my black SMPc in March with a 10% discount off the already reduced price and bagged it for $3500...almost $1000 lower than MSRP. In May I stopped by my dealer and saw Vault Series tags on the SMPc in both black/blue with the price reduced to $3000...so I bagged the blue one. Now apparently that has been rescinded on the SMPc...but you can snag the chronograph version for a steal. Apparently the SMPc chronograph can be had at Jared's Galleria for $3000...that must be close to 50% off. I had sent a co-worker over to snag a watch on this deal and he wanted the black SMPc...no dice, but he could have had the chronograph, which he didn't want. Timing is everything I guess...I lucked out and got a black & blue SMPc for less than the cost of one Rolex Stainless Submariner.

Has the sound of something a jeweller might make up to sell old stock...

Searching "Jared Jewellers" get's you some interesting posts on forums over the last 8 or 9 years... it sounds like Rolex removed their AD status, and reading around a bit more it sounds like Omega might not be far behind.

Question to the OP, and I ask this because I've read a lot of SEO optimised, click inducing, not as legible as it could be, copy over the last few years... do you work for Jareds, or a company that owns or is any way connected with them? ;)

It was explained to me that it was a price reduction directed by Omega, possibly due to new versions of some of their watches coming out. I don't remember if any Speedys we're on it as I wasn't interested, but there were some others besides the SMPc. Each watch that was had a small silver tag on it that said "Vault Series." The salesman had to look up the price on a memo they had at the counter.

Pretty sure the background indicates who I work for. Simply trying to pass on what I thought was a good deal...take it or leave it. The official name of the dealer is Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, and not all of their stores sell Omega. I'm not sure if they ever sold Rolex, but I went there because the Omega website listed them as the closest AD. The only boutique I've been in was in London in 2014.

Sounds like something from within the jewellers themselves... as Omega have a habit of putting prices up (even on discontinued watches), rather than down ;)

But hey, you can only share what the dealer tells you.

No offence intended chap, hence that little winky dude at the end of my question... and it being a question rather than a BLOCK CAPITALS RANTY ACCUSATION (roar... or something).

Hmm... camouflage... are you a Professional Hide and Seek Champion?

Pongo, Crab Air or Wafu? A man of taste, I thought they all bought Bremonts these days.

Have no idea what the RAF wears, but looked up Bremont...the Supermarine looks interesting. I spent 4 fantastic years in England, played a lot of golf, discovered Innis & Gunn, and saw my first Omega (300 Master Co-Axial) at the boutique in the Stratford Mall. Never bought one cause I couldn't get past the dial...looks like black construction paper. Saw the SMPc and was hooked, although I'm probably the only one who doesn't gush over the bracelet. I didn't know anything about watches until I got my first Omega...learned the hard way after two Tag's, one of which I still have but hardly ever wear. Too much love for the SMPc.

Probably because there's no such thing as a "Vault Series." OP's local Jared's is just trying to knock out what remainder stock they have as they are most likely losing their Omega line.

How do you figure that? I got two SMPc's for $6500 from an AD with presentation box and full warranty cards. There are three dealers in my area and Jared is still listed on Omega's website. Looks like I got a deal actually, but it may have been an in house gimmick to lower inventory...I could care less, I saved a ton of money.

I just called Jared in Utica, Michigan. They have a blue 300m for $3,700. About $900 more than I paid for mine.
