·The back looks brushed, and poorly around the edges at that, like someone was trying to bury some scratches or engraving. Weren't the backs of these things usually polished (mine is)

Indeed, the "Swiss made" does not look exactly centered the usual way. But it could partly be because it the pic and the dial still looks ok to me. The scripts and the subdial look correct.

The edges of the back have been lightly polished, but I think nobody touch the back: it doesn' t have to be polished in this reference.
