Normally, the case back number should be higher than the movement serial number, this watch is not, that makes me think they don't belong to each other.
The price is also high for a redialed gold watch.

    Don't buy it.

Thank you for your advise, this is all extremely helpful.

What would you price this watch at? (roughly)

Could you recommend me, if possible, the best value omega vintage, like this one, for under $2000?

    Appreciate your feedback

    Regards

    You are welcome.

Maybe, to you, there is not much difference between an original watch and a redialed watch but to us, serious collectors, we don't collect those because they don't have much collectivity in them.

I don't know if there is a member in this forum would pay more than $1400 for it?

To add to my previous post, what would you value the IWC?

    Thank you again.

I think you need to start off by looking at the WRUW thread a bit and narrowing down exactly what you like, then hunt a specific model, whenever you want to buy urgently and only buy from what's immediately available you're letting yourself down, take the time and figure out what models speak to you most, then work out pricerange and hunt one after that.

    Here's the WRUW thread: http://omegaforums.net/threads/wruw-today.567/page-784

Good advice dsio. Once you get the bug, it's hard to resist the urge to rush in. However, like you say, learning what speaks to you, learning the price range and then going hunting will yield the most satisfying results. The research and the hunting is time consuming, but a lot of fun.

There was a Hodinkee video with John Mayer talking about watches. See the video here.
They were talking about "regret" and buying watches and John says "yeah, the first 10-12 watches where you think you're amassing a collection. You're not." It's certainly going to happen (I'm guilty of it), but take dsio's advice and slow down. There are sooooo many choices and the money ranges dramatically. Learn to enjoy the process as much as finding the prize.

IWC has been a great brand name in watches. If you like to own a vintage IWC try to find a 89 caliber

    Here's mine
