There are basically 3 versions of the RAF 53, with the difference being the dial. The most valued version has the original TA dial as it was delivered from Omega - these are also the most rare. The second most valuable version, are watches that went back to Omega for service and received a replacement TA dial. This was common in for quite some time, until Omega ran out of the TA dials. The third version, is the Fat Arrow with the MoD painted dial.
Based on the fact that you sent yours into service to Omega I would suspect your watch to have the replacement TA dial. We would need higher resolution images to tell for certain.
The ball park figure mentioned here is accurate, but condition would also be impacted by whether you still have the internal anti-magnetic shield and spacer.[/QUOTE
Thank you for your reply, wasn't sure if anyone would bother.
I only sent it back to Omega a couple of years ago and I don't remember there being anything about a new dial. As far as I know they, Omega, cleaned it and made some new parts in the historical department. I assume I would spoil the seal if I opened it to check for the presence of a shield and spacer but I have no reason to believe it isn't as originally made.
