Hi Guys, First message here, Im coming from Rolex (etc) forums.. In a few words, I'm from France, true Horlogerie passionate, started 10 years ago, never dropped it... I spend a few hours each day reading, discovering new brands, new models, its a crazy hobby with SO MUCH possibilities.. too many ? I always have been a huge fan of "Moon" legend, bought (built..) my first Rolex GMT thinking about John Swigert.. Of course, and obviously, a Speed was needed. I did not know a lot about Omega's until a few weeks ago when I started read a lot on this great forum about the whole Speedy legend, backgrounds, and I got very excited about it. What a stunning watch with such history.. I finally pulled the trigger I received this beauty a few days ago. I took some nice pictures before/after cleaning. I have it 10 days before it leaves my hands for a complete service and hands work (tritium is missing..). One of the original pusher cap is missing. Those are indeed the original pushers on the watch, the ones with the larger base than the "service" ones. See the pictures. Anyway I'm very happy, the watch is superb and loaded with history, that's why I was looking for. Thank you for your time Gentlemen, If I did anything wrong please point me to the right direction as Im new on this forum and hope to have enjoy the ride with you. Best regards, Propofol.
Bienvenue dans ce forum and thank you for sharing this great story... AND watch with us!! Are you sending the watch to a local watchmaker or specialist?
Looks very nice. Would be worth ordering an extract from Omegas archive, something you can’t do with Rolex!
This is a really nice find you've got there. Welcome to the forum and I'm sure you will enjoy all the information you can get around here.
Nice catch.. IMO it has the very attractive "original condition" look. Match the hands to the dial and you have a stunner.
Propofol, just for the record : " 105.012-65 from Venezuela's Army " is incorrect. these were never issued to the Army there. it is a private purchase and was used by an Army member. All Army Watches are Issued and have a Numbering system to identify them as Army Property. you have a very nice Speedy with a History. kind regards. Achim
Great find, welcome. Having your blood type engraved on the clasp is one of the best tool watch ideas I think I’ve seen, that watch must have got worn hard.
Welcome and a huge congrats! What a way to start your Omega journey... buckle up as these adventures seem to pick up speed very easily
Doesn’t that depend on which one? Edit - I agree. It’s a great idea. Nephew is diabetic. Am sure there are other great use cases.
