Nothing radical about this project (some would even say that the mods were redundant!) but I wanted a poorman's vintage Omega Speedmaster Broadarrow but with a 861 movement. I could have gotten the 1957 replica/reissue (3594.50) but it came with imo a less attractive 1861 movement. As for the 861, I wanted the rose gold/brass version which I thought was the prettiest of the lot. Picky picky picky... Doing my maths, I therefore got myself a 3590.50 from one of the established Japanese vendors off Ebay (it even came with the original purchase receipt!) and some parts from Ofrei, and off it went to my regular watch technician. Here are some pictures of end product (Pics taken with my IPhone 5..yeah, I really need to work on my photography skill!)
Hi, It's reference number on Ofrei is OME-064PP3052001; for cal 861/1861. However, do note that the markers have been touched up! Chye
Just searched on Ofrei and the reference OME-064PP3052001 has painted logo and yours is applied. Can you check your reference again to help me find one?
After an interesting conversation with Chye, he was kind enough to call his watchmaker, and we concluded that the OP dial reference from Ofrei is OME-321-DIAL#1 and his watchmaker did some filing on the feet to make it fit it onto the 861 movement. Thanks again Chye
isn't this the correct one on Ofrei ? Also I believe not having "Professional" is more in keeping with a 1957 Speedmaster. Cannot tell if the applied Logo is silver or gold though
Not sure with Ofrei reference, but Watchco on eBay has both; silver and gold. Better call ofrei first to confirm.
