I have been slowly collecting the ESA 9210 tuning fork chronograph watches. I have a nice collection so far of 2 longines ultronic chronos and 1 certina c-tronic chrono. The Omega Speedsonic Lobster was always on my wish list. A complete watch was simply out of my price range and I failed numerous times on ebay auctions since I lowball too much. My best bet at owning one was slowly acquiring parts to lessen the hit to the wallet over the course of a few months. My watch has a bit of an international consortium of parts:

    1) Movement, bad crystal, and pushers w/inner case. Also grabbed a spare coil from him - USA Seller
    2) NOS crystal - USA Company
    3) Outer case - Had a very bent lug on it - Venezuela
    4) Lobster bracelet - Came off a megasonic - Venezuela

I sent this to my watchmaker who lives in Thailand, Rob Berkavicious, and he did an excellent job restoring the movement and had his case guy repair the bent lug, etc. I didn't want to spend a fortune on refinishing at the typical places since I plan to wear the watch a lot. It was fun to build, and I wish I had the cash to dive into more Omegas. I typically buy Accutrons since they are a lot cheaper!

I am interested to know what the proper box/paperwork is for this watch. If anyone would be so kind as to share that I would be most appreciative.

That looks excellent, I really do love these and hope to own one myself someday.

You did well to get one built back up from the parts, good savings and nice to bring something back to its former glory.

    Congratulations.

Well done, the mirror dial is beautiful, in fact it looks new !
I don't think the B&P had anything special to them, will see what I can find in my archived pictures ;-)

You definitely need the 720Hz to complete your lobster collection.

Incredible job with the build. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay at the end?

Dan, I think it all came out to $1500 including service. I still need to sell my spare case parts and megasonic which will help close the price gap. With speedsonics, the most important part is the dial. A lot of lobsters will have a matte finish dial which is found on the non-lobster reference. The mirror dial is very easy to damage during service and tends to get spiderweb cracks from any moisture. Ive seen some complete, non serviced, lobster speedsonics sell around $1000 to $1400 but the dials were not pristine. Replacement mirror dials are non-existant from my research. Doing a parts build like this is really hard as most people sell complete watches. The stars aligned and I happened to find a seller with an inner case, working movement, and perfect dial. Finding a separate listing just with the outer case was pure luck.

For the curious, here is what the "inner case" looks like when removed from the outer case.

    Ciao a tutti,
Sono alla ricerca di un bracciale lobster per il mio speedsonic che era di mio padre. Da quello che capisco posso montare anche il bracciale del Megasonic? Sono uguali?
    Grazie

Hi. The megasonic bracelet and the speedsonic lobster bracelet are the same. They are rare. You can try to purchase a donor watch with bracelet.

Ciao. Il braccialetto megasonic e il braccialetto aragosta speedonic sono gli stessi. Sono rari. Puoi provare ad acquistare un orologio da donatore con braccialetto.
