Well the only thing that looks strange is that there is no patina on the small hands. Check the size on the pushers, and bracelet.

It looks original to me although case seems rather machined.
But at $22900 seems a little high on the asking.

No T SWISS MADE T? Is it correct for the era?

The dial is correct and very nice looking. No "T"s until the introductions of the 105.003-63. As you can see, this dial has orange radium lume.

I like it. A lot. Maybe not $22.9k worth, but I still like it. Knock it down by the low five digits and I might even pursue it.

This 2998-4 is basically perfect. The dial, hands, 7077/6 bracelet, case, movement number all are correct and in great condition. IMHO, This is as close to speedmaster101.com "collector" category as one can get. Coupled with the store it comes from, a guarantee, rising prices, lack of similar supply, I believe that this watch will sell close to the asking price.

Look how pronounced the Seamonster is on the caseback. Really something for a 54 year old watch.

For a little perspective, this -62 sold for $12k in January 1894XXXX.JPG

Sounds like you're selling this watch. Look at the bezel and the dings and scratches on the lugs...

I wish I owned it. If I owned it, i wouldn't sell it.

Sure the bezel is not pristine. But it goes very nicely with the watch. If you wanted to trade up to a pristine DON it might cost an extra $500 to $750. Not very material.

This watch is all about the DIAL. Personally, I really like the 7077/6 bracelet (from what I can see of it). Not sure if it has all 5 double links but it looks in great condition and was the OEM bracelet sold with the watch.

It's rare these days to see this type of watch being marketed with its matching vintage bracelet. Most sellers would break it up and sell the watch and bracelet separately to maximize profit.

Where can you find a pristine bezel in the first place to trade up to? Guess you'd trade up the case too? And it's the whole package for any watch, not just the dial, especially for the so called collector grade.

Just my 5c but it looks like the white hands are new and the lume has been matched. Either that or they are suspiciously perfect [emoji2]

It's an extremely nice example but there's no way it would fall into the collector bracket on 101.

Just from 1 picture you can see the bezel and case have wear, as you would expect from a 60 year old watch. IMO it could potentially be 'good' but not 'collector'.

If I bought this at the advertised price at this point in time, any enthusiasm I had for this watch would disappear each and every time I took a glance at the lugs (and the bezel)
The lugs, in my opinion are irretrievable. The curved planes have been flattened, the lug ends are rounded and it seems to me from these photos that on the upper faces, enough heat has been generated through polishing as to have altered the composition of the metal surface finish. Looks more molten than polished.
Removing any more metal is not going to fix this problem.
