Hi OF!

Here is an old post that our dear William AKA @Spacefruit did back in the good old days!
I found it when I was cruising around….😉

Even though it is from 2019, it is really fun and interesting to read, and also to look and study the different watches.

Some of you might not have an account with Sothebys, and you need this to see the salesprice - create one, and you get access!

And who knows, in 2029…maybe a new crazy auction?

Enjoy!

Damn I didn't even know he was doing them all the way back then, the Alaska is rather interesting I didn't hear about that one at the time, annoyingly they're not letting me make an account for some reason. Maybe Sothebys is Australophobic 🤷‍♂️

I loved going through the references, and reading about the assessment/condition etc!
And some of the prices where bananas....😀!

Weird that you could not create an account?
Have you tried with the app?

Well, this December it will be 10 years since the " Omega Speedmaster 50 " Christie's New York auction... it was the very first dedicated Omega Speedmaster auction entitled " From a Spacewalk to Today " .
Basically, 2015, December 15, it was watch collector R. Bernard selling his collection, being 28 of the 50 auctioned pieces.
Well-illustrated auction catalog and we consider auction catalogs "important" sources for the Speedies' historic sales...
