    Hi everyone

I am in Osaka on business trip, ran by BIC camera today and saw a brand spanking new (+ new wooden box) , warranty stamped Omega Speedy Tintin for 2700 bucks.
    thinking of snatching it.
good deal ? yeah or nah? actually looks great in real life and I had never seen one in person.

    thanks

Good deal. Still a lot of them out there. I think that's the first time under 3k.

Considering a used Speedy in good condition at that price is decent. If you love the Tintin I'd say go for it. Quick price check shows one in the US at $3350.

Your not going to make much reselling it and they are available for people that want them. They did not sell as many as Omega forecasted.

agreed they certainly are not as popular but it seems like a reasonable price for something I can say I bought in Japan :)

Not sure this is so. I have been following prices a bit on Chrono24 past few months: there were three Tintins available for 4000€+.
As of today only one is available for 4650€. Prices on forums have been in the range of 3000-3600$ (by memory).

I'd take it. I got a good deal on it a while ago, but your price is still a little better.

Asking price is not sales price...

    I know.
The prices on Chrono 24 were from different dealers on new and slightly used models (with running warranty). The watches dissapeared quite quickly. Do you think people get AD type discounts on those prices? Not in my experience - prices on Chrono24 are sometimes flexible in the range of "free shipping with insurance". Rare are sellers who quote MSRP prices.

I'm sure you can always negotiate it down a little as well!

    Of course, sometimes.
    From 4650€ to 2500€? Hardly ...

I'd have to agree at least with my current experiences.

No one seems to ever come down more then $200 or so on their prices.

It is true we don't know if those other Tintins that appeared and dissapeared in past few months sold for their asking prices (between 4000-4500€) or at all and were pulled from Chrono24 for whatever reason.

Thread resurrect had me wanting to ::puke::, thinking that I had just overpaid horrendously for a Tintin I saw for sale here. Then I saw the date of the OP. Prices have certainly gone up in the past year for this watch.

Get it! That’s a great price. 3.8k for mint and 4.2k for BNIB seem to be the going rate on the forums.
