Omega Speedmaster TEUTONIC

Good evening,
I have the opportunity to buy a Speedmaster Teutonic in pretty good conditions, the price could be pretty fair.
What do you think about this specific model? It is caliber 861. Is it worth collecting as one of the few good watches to have? I already own a Speedsonic bought by my father in the 70s. Here you have the photos of the watch I would like to buy, the price is about 2000 dollars.

I personally like the Teutonic case shape, they look even better in person. Is it worth collecting? That's up to you. There's not a huge demand for these AFAIK.

The dial is in pretty bad shape. I honestly don't know if $2,000 is a good price for one of these or not but I would skip that dial at any price.

I just bought the gold/metal version for 1600$. It's in better shape than the silver one you're considering on buying.

But they go for more on Chrono24. So if you like it, go for it!

Neither difficult to find nor highly collectable.
I'd say $2000 is top end for one in excellent condition. This one has a badly water damaged dial and I'd too completely avoid it.

As for Chrono 24 pricing.....well, that's been done to death, but I think there is a general consensus that the sellers there are optimistic with their asking prices

I think the Speedmaster Teutonic is interesting. They pop up every once in a while especially on the German market in all states of condition and at a very wide price range. I would go for one from a pre-owner rather than from a dealer. (For $2000 you should be able to get a better one. Just be patient.)

What I find difficult personally is the integrated design, so you can not change to straps to give it another look.
On the other hand this design stands for the zeitgeist and target marketing back then.
