Reserved mine day after the speedy mail got out and recived it last July. But unboxed it just 2 weeks ago as a career gift.
If every piece is delivered this year its still pretty good work as Omega are producing 8 watches/day.
I understand your wait (still waiting after 2 years for My MKII Gmt 😁) , but when the ST arriving.... you Will be stunned its so Nice !!
the leather strap has had pretty universal loathing. I think unfairly.
I bought a vintage BandR bands strap for my ST and it is a great strap but looking closely at it made me re-evaluate what a great strap the standard strap is:
There is a quality to the official strap in grain, slenderness of leather, accuracy of stiching and grain of backing which the BandR just can’t compete with.
I am not knocking the BandR - I love it for what it is - just bigging up the standard ST strap
Well the original strap is high quality to be sure - the problem is it's ugly. It's plasticky, modern-looking leather with vintage stitching, ultimately causing a sort of "uncanny valley" reaction. I don't know if they went with their usual supplier, Jean Rousseau, but those straps cost $200 while straps from BandR are $50-60 - there's no way you can really compare the two
I think the brushed case and panda sundials have had universal praise - and for good reason.
