Hi All, I own an Omega Speedmaster Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award 45th Anniversary (worn only a handful of times)and am thinking about selling it as I never wear it. I've seen some rather high prices advertised on C24 and other sites and find it hard to believe that they are selling at these prices, can anyone on this forum shed some light on what a realistic price would be for this watch?
Seems like a fishing post. Why would you not believe the prices on not just one but several sites? Your query would seem more plausible if you were looking to buy instead of looking to sell.
I've got some great advice for you.....wait till 2020 when the 50th anniversary Apollo 13 comes out and then sell your watch
Not fishing at all, just trying to ascertain if people are actually paying AUD 38k for a snoopy?? Seems very high.
It's only worth $4,000, but in a gesture of kindness towards a new and inexperienced seller like yourself, I'd be willing to pay $5,000 for it. In all seriousness, you might as well ask what others are asking. I have a hard time believing they're selling for that much, but maybe they are. Either way, people will make you plenty of offers, so there's not really a downside as long as what you're asking is in line with what others asking.
Finding out what a modern watch is worth in the market is pretty easy actually; use advanced search on Ebay to show completed/sold listings, also, use watchrecon.com to see what folks have listed watches for on all the various watch forums with marketplaces (this won't necessarily show an actual sales price, but you can extrapolate based on how long the listing was posted for). With some very modest due diligence, you'll have a pretty good idea. The other option is just put it up on Ebay and let the auction run its course, the market will definitely tell you what its worth.
They can be found for way under market value, with some luck but I’ve seen recent prices anywhere from $18-28k. How about you put yours up for eBay auction and let’s see what the market bares.
