Greetings,

Collective forum wisdom needed...

My recently purchased (from Bob's) speedmaster is running really fast, gaining almost 12 minuted daily.

Should I send it back to the Swatch Group for regulation, or is there any known Omega Jedi in the western Massachusetts area with the skills and aquipment to regulate it accurately?

Sounds like your Speedmaster is really.. Racing.. along :D

In seriousness, it could be well over due for a service or it could simply have become magnetized, which is easily rectified. The forum has a really good search tool now, so you can try to use that to find possible watch maker recommendations that have already been made

When you buy from a seller like Bob's, you pay a premium for a warranty. So you should probably avail yourself of that. Otherwise, return the watch and buy from another seller, save some money and use it for a service.

Thanks Dan, I'll try Bob's first. I've had it a bit over a year, but it's definitely worth a call. Thanks for the advice.

My fault for making an assumption based on your comment that you purchased it "recently".

Ha! It really is Racing... I'll check it for magnetization. Per Dan's recommendation, I'll give Bob's a swing at it. I just searched the forum database as you suggested, and there are certaily some worthy watchmakers to call if'n Bob's can't help. Thanks for the advice.

That's OK, I would have sworn I just got it a month or so ago... I should have checked the purchase date before reporting "recently purchased, Lol.
