No expert here but I think the word chronometer is for certified mechanical movements only, never heard nor do I see the point in a quartz chronometer. For that reason I'd think fake but google should answer your question for sure in no time.

... from what I can tel after a quick look on google a quartz in theory could be sent to cosc and receive a chronometer rating, but from what I can tell Omega do not, unless it's a HF "tuning fork" movement.

Fake as fake can be. Do not pass go do not ask more then 5 dollars for the watch. Fairly common fake from about 10 years ago and they still pop up every once in awhile.

Many moons ago during the school holidays, instead of going shopping , watching movies or travelling with friends , I would spend lots of time hanging out in the flea markets looking at replica watches , tee shirts, handbags ,electronics & chit- chatting with the local and foreign business traders. Everybody angrily advised me to avoid such dangerous places. I could be a victim of kidnapping then drugged & sold off overseas to pimps ! ( Just like Liam Neeson's daughter in the movie Taken[emoji15] )

They were always right & I was just very lucky nothing bad happened . Was it all a waste of time ? You bet ! But because I was a stupid stubborn mule, now I can rattle off lot of points suggesting that's a replica watch ( The traders use the word genuine fakes )
    ● The subdials are always a dead giveaway !
    ● It's an overcooked Broad arrow 57 Speedy Replica with a white date wheel. It should have been black & as @padders pointed out , the fraudsters should have just omitted the word quartz...really....It would look more convincing if it were replaced with a '57' logo
    ● the dial markers are not equally distributed & asymmetrical. I dont need to describe the caseback coz it's all wrong.
    ● However the beefy Swiss casing & bracelet are pretty robust SS 316 L with a decent working Japanese quartz chronograph movement
    ● It retails for ~ US150 bucks but after bargaining 0ne could get for ~ US100-120 . The Replica watch is usually presented as a birthday gift or treated like a sick joke depending on how you look at it [emoji136]

All the different traders in KL Chinatown are ruled by one Mister Big. He takes his cut from every fake watch or bag sold.
Judging by the way tourists are harassed to buy something there he must be one wealthy man.

I'd have to agree just from talking with and dealing with bazaars in Afghanistan. Although the fakes I bought ended up costing $10 each I can't imagine anyone's making too much in the Middle East. I have a few "Omegas" that I should post to show.

The grave accent over the first 'e' of Tachymètre is missing.
