After 6 years of glorious ownership, I have decided that it's time to part with my Tintin.

This is a one owner watch (sourced for me from a UK AD by Darren aka. vintagespeedmasters in 2016), and comes with:

Outer shipping box
Plastic watch coffin
Tags
Cards
Big wooden box + card holder
Unworn and unsized bracelet
Original UK AD receipt

Condition: Very good, lightly used, not brand new - there are some swirl marks on the underside of the lugs from strap changes, and couple of tiny hairlines on the case back and the tops of the lugs from daily wear.

Please note, I have had to take photos through a loupe to get these to show up...

Watch is based in the UK - F2F deal preferred, with payment by bank transfer.

Asking £12,950

Please drop me a line if you'd like to make it yours.

I’ve had a lot of “interest” from dealers, mostly wanting to buy for under £10k so they can sell on (based on previous sale prices on their sites) for £15k plus.

I think the idea of import duties is putting some people off, but sadly I can’t do anything about those, and even with them, it’s still cheaper than most of the watches in the EU and the USA.
Even with import duties it’s still cheaper than the others listed- by a long shot. US customs are among the cheapest out there (as discussed in a other thread) so US members in good standing shouldn’t have too much concern on that.

On your comment above about declaring lower value for customs- it’s is absolutely penny-wise pound foolish to try and circumvent duties as it will come back to bite the buyer (and the seller if an insurance claim is necessary). Not to mention incredibly rude and presumptuous to expect any seller to be willing to assist in committing fraud to save a few bucks.

especially if following the distinction between the case, the movement and the strap/bracelet valuations

Import to USA is relatively cheap, using Fedex Watch Import form.

It is just sad that the cheapest TinTin from a reputable seller is out of my range.
GLWS. Fully worth it.

….and don’t forget the devaluation of £ against dollar.

If I could afford it I would really get a flight from Germany to the UK, I am sure that should be equally easy for most of our European members who are keen on acquiring this watch.

Got to be worth a cheap flight and pick up. Great price for a great watch. 👍

The tax on a UK to USA watch import if done right and honestly declared (eg by using the form William mentions) is around 6.5%. Hardly a massive issue.

Good luck with the sale Chris, keep dodging the sharks.

SOLD!

Many thanks to OF for the wonderful forum and marketplace, and to the Tintin’s new owner.

It is now on its way north of the border thanks to the Time 4A Pint back channel courier network, to be delivered next week. 👍
