Omega Speedmaster Professional ST 345.0022 - Japan-Market Champagne Dial, Gold Tachymeter Bezel

I’m trying to identify this Speedmaster Professional I received from a family member. It’s manual-wind, has the “Flight-Qualified by NASA…” caseback, a champagne/gold-tone dial, and a black bezel with gold tachymeter text. The case and pushers are stainless steel, and it’s on a vintage-style 1171 bracelet.

From what I can tell, it most closely resembles the Japan-market variant of the Apollo XI 20th Anniversary Speedmaster, likely reference ST 345.0022, but this version has no Apollo-specific engraving - just the standard NASA caseback. I’ve seen mentions of a small batch of Japan-exclusive models released in 1989 with these exact features.

Has anyone else come across this version or can confirm if it’s a known Japan-market piece? I plan to pull the serial and request an Omega Extract but would love any collector insight or comparison photos in the meantime.

Thanks!
Noah

Dial and hands are correct for a DD 145.0022, which is what is supposed to be inscribed inside the case on the inner caseback..

Outer caseback is as expected, and is identical to a 145.0022.

So you have 1 of 2 things here. A DD145.0022 or a normal 145.022 with a dial and handset from replacement parts.

The only way to know is if you have pictures of the inside of the caseback. Once opened the serial should be 45.250.xxx - 45.447.xxx.

NOTE: This is missing the bracelet with the 14k inner links on the bracelet. The value of this watch is considerable less without the matching bracelet unique to the model.

The gold on the endlink was painted on and is often missing.

This is sometimes described as an Italian only model, which it was not, and this model was sold all over the world from 1983-1986. There is a similar speedmaster reduced model which is smaller and does not say professional on the dial which was commonly sold in Japan though.

Above and beyond response. I appreciate it man. I’ll let you know what I find behind the casing.
