The bottom paragraph is borrowed from the research of the late/great Chuck Maddox a man who is deeply missed by most all Speedmaster enthusiasts as he singlehandedly accumulated a mass of data and research on all aspects of the Speedmaster like no other….thanks for you contribution Chuck!! If you do not know of his work, please Google it, it is amazing to say the least.

Post-Moon Professional Speedmasters (1st Generation):
Shortly after the successful landing by Apollo astronauts on the moon Omega moved to commemorate the event by means of a specially engraved caseback... The exact beginning and ending date of this caseback is not well known, but usage started shortly after the Apollo 11 landing timeframe and lasted until 1971 when the modern caseback was adopted. This is the caseback found on ST145.022's dating from after the first lunar landing to some point in 1971
The history of the Speedmaster is well known and documented, quoting Omega’s Advertisment which states…..Now, you can own the same Omega Speedmaster all American astronauts wear in space. That single fact has made this watch a true classic and a quintessential piece in any collectors watch box. This is a great opportunity to own a watch that will not go down in value. I can assure you this one is definitely a super classic!
If you are looking at this watch then I don’t have to tell you much about it. Watch has been gently
worn on special occasions probably less than 100 times at most. Very light to normal wear, in excellent pre-owned condition. The watch and its parts are all 100% original, and purchased new in 1970. The case, dial, hands, bezel have all aged well and are in good shape. You can replace anything, but I would not suggest it, as with vintage watches it only adds to their character. Watch is fully functional and keeps perfect time. Chronograph works perfectly as well. Needs nothing mechanically!
Overall this is a very nice vintage example of a Classic that we all love. Do not miss out on this one, these were limited in production with this model caseback. I priced it very fair to move quickly, and will accept REASONABLE offers, good luck and thanks for taking a look!!
