Hi Everyone,

I just saw that one of the pins in my Omega Speedmaster Professional, bracelet 1499 is protruding. I checked with the local AD and they told me that by the looks of it, the bracelet seems to be secure. However, if I want to get it repaired, then they will have to send it out to their service centre.

I am still not convinced that the bracelet is secure. Do you concur?

Does any of you know from where can I source the pin & tube for 1499 links? I saw a couple of them on eBay, but not sure if they are genuine. I am based in New Zealand, so any online shop with international shipping would be great!

When you checked with the local AD did they have the bracelet in hand, or was it from pics you sent them?

It can't protude from both sides as can be seen on the second picture. Clearly that pin does not belong to that link.

As noted the pin appears to be incorrect for the bracelet, so I would have serious doubts if the bracelet was put together properly. If you can move than pin by pressing on it, it is not secure and the pin and tube should be replaced.

The pin for this part of the bracelet is part #128ST9434. The pipe is part #201ST0098.

Have your AD order in a few of each for you, and you can replace it yourself - there's no need to send this off to replace a $2 pin and $2 pipe...

As others have said, that’s not right. It could also be that the pin has broken and is sliding out both sides. In either case, I would definitely get that fixed before wearing it again. Time to break out a leather strap!

I had it with me. They saw the bracelet in person.

Thanks very much. Will order the spares. Not sure if I can get it here in New Zealand. If not, will order it from abroad.

I don't understand how the pin was previously protruding from both sides, and now it is recessed on both sides.

I don't understand how the pin was previously protruding from both sides, .
I thought that was an optical illusion.

That would make more sense.
Looked to me like it was a reflection on the inside rim of the opening on the side where the pin was recessed.

To be honest, I have no idea. When I push one side, the other one goes out. I believe there is not enough friction between the pin and the tube. Anyways, I replaced the pin and the tube. It looks ok now I guess.

Haha, I assure you, it certainly was not. Had no idea why it was protruding from both sides.
