Afternoon Guys / Girls.

I'm feeling quite proud to post images of my first Omega in my collection. The watch is a Speedmaster Pro Racer "Tin Tin" and the photos are attached.

I know a fair bit about the history of the watch and the story leading up to it's production (or lack of) and I've heard it's a fairly rare piece due to the cancelled production.

Your opinions / feedback would be greatly appreciated.

It's quite nice. I have one and am currently on the hunt for a leather racing strap with some red stitching accent.

 

Mine says hello . The TinTin is a lovely piece - I put mine on a red Kaufmann strap and adore it.

Thank you for posting... I just got mine and realized our serial numbers are quite close.
Omega may have made them as a batch so it would be cool to get a range to estimate how many Speedy Tintin were produced...

whats the story behind this watch?

 

Originally designed to be a LE for Tintin cartoon. The red and white remains the colors of the rocket Tintin was using to go to the Moon. And the Speedy was supposed to have this Rocket on the dial (as a patch). or on the back (not sure). When this project was submitted to Tintin owners, the answer was a theratening "no".
So the "real" Tintin" never went to prod, and everything which could remind the famous journalist had to be removed. The only remaining piece was the dial.
Owners of Tintin are anyway stupid. This could have been a real fun and cool piece. And nevertheless it's now the name of this Speedy.
I guess their lawyers don't know anything about watches ...
