DESCRIPTION
Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo XI 20th Anniversary edition for sale.
The 20th anniversery edition was produced in a limited run of 2000 for the USA (numbered), 250 for Germany (numbered), and 4000 for the rest of the world (these were not numbered). This one was sold in Japan and as such is not numbered, but inscribed with 'APOLLO XI 1969' on the left-hand side of its case.
This series were released with 3 bracelet options - a 1450 or 1479 SS bracelet or with a leather belt. This particular piece was with the third option, and although the leather belt has long since perished it has been replaced with a 1498 bracelet instead - arguably as comfortable as the more modern 1998 variant but without interfering with the vintage appearance of the piece.
Most importantly perhaps is that it has just returned from a full service by Omega in Fukuoka and as such it holds a 2 year INTERNATIONAL warranty (as of December 14th) which is redeemable at any Omega service center globally should the watch develop any faults or defects. It has had a new mainspring, hands and hesalite crystal installed as part of the service - the originals were returned to me and are also included in this sale. The proof of work (warranty) is also of course included.
Also comes with its original special edition wooden box - the inside of which has deteriorated somewhat but outward appearance remains unaffected. Please note there are no papers included with this watch other than the service warranty.
Overall an excellent opportunity to add an interesting and authentic Speedmaster Professional variant to your collection.
