Hi! I’ve been searching information about Moonphase-watches. I would appreciate, if you could share your experiences with the Omega Speedmaster Moonphase -watches; especially the latest models. Are you happy with your Moonphase; pros&cons? Did you find your Moonphase as pre-owned or new? Would you recommend owning a Moonphase? Why? What I love in Moonphase, is the accurate pic of the Moon... so special... even though not a Limited Edition, which I happen to like. Well, there is platinum, but....
Search “Moonphase aventurine”. There is also a new one coming out soon. It was announced in Basel. They are nice watches and a little different from a more usual Speedy. Other than that they are very similar to a Speedmaster Racing except with a moon. Nothing bad to say. Except I wish they were cheaper
Nice watch, I like mp watches. At 44 it’s bit large for my taste, moon version moonwatch looks perfect
this is nice. Owned one for awhile, but sold due to the broadarrow hands. Legibility of the sub dials was suboptimal.
Does anyone know if the Omega Speedmaster moonphase watches update the moon at 12:00 (noon) or 12:00 (midnight)? I know the date complication updates at 12:00 (midnight).
I like this new one as legibility is increased. I never understood on the broad arrow why they would have the moon phase at 12 other than maybe issues with the movement? It’s always covered up by chrono hand and the day of month for 10 days.....
One major issued I had with this moonphase is the date wheel hands too small and I hardly be able to recognise the date. Not very legible, no doubt is an awesome watch.
I've had mine for four days and love it. I have to agree re the date, impossible to read but I don't care!
I have this one, and love it, especially the footprint on the moon! The only downside is that I'm red-green colorblind and have difficulty reading the small red date hand. I never noticed whether the moonphase updates at midnight or noon, but I'll check. I ordered it through a local gray market dealer, who got it for me in three weeks with full Omega warranty. The upcoming model with adventurine dial is intriguing, and I'm looking forward to seeing that one as soon as it arrives at the OB. Pricey, though!
So far this is my favourite piece in my collection and the reason I bought this is bcoz I love moon photography and Im a big fan of moonlanding and mysteries of the unknown lol. For me that little foot print on the moonphase is just amazing and mysterious for people who doesn’t know it exist and how omega achieved that detailed moon boot print on a “metallic disc” god knows. Basically my omega’s are my fun piece and rolex for more formal also everyday piece. I got mine from AD with 30% off retail. Cheers!
Love it. I have the black dial. To be honest, I couldn't take my eyes off it for a month straight. I would buy the same model again in a heartbeat. The blue dial like that of @MrJKLFoams and @Morseman seen above is fantastic, so if I were to buy again I might have to more closely consider blue.
Nothing is better than the White Gold Moonphase. Not limited but you don't see it often. For me it combines everything from Shape, Material and Moonphase.
I wore one of these daily for a little while. Absolutely loved it. The size wasn't an issue despite being bigger. The accuracy was incredible. And the moon phase was so beautiful.
Moon advances at noon. So, I’m old fashioned. Love these Have never owned any of the coaxial moonphases. I’m not interested in the increased bulk. I’ve never had a problem with any of them and am obviously fond of this complication. My grail watch, which I hope I don’t find.
