The back-story of the MoonWatch and its space race story is one of the most famous and inspiring story in Omega Speedmaster history. From a watch that was designed as a sport chronograph, in a blind twist of fate, the Omega Speedmaster was worn to the Moon. The first and only watch worn on the Moon. "Any omission or errors are on my part, please feel free to point it out so we can correct it accordingly." Well, for one thing, the Speedmaster is not the only watch worn on the Moon. I'm surprised that myth continues to appear in print. https://rrauction.atavist.com/apollo15lunarsurfacechronograph NASA's documentation of a non-Speedmaster being worn on the Moon's surface can be found here. So NASA gave the watch companies three years notice to make a watch that would pass the tests. Is it you or someone else that cobbled all this rubbish together?
( from the OP website ) The same year these were being carried out on 18 March, news from Soviet Russia astonished the Americans. The first world’s first moonwalk was completed by a Russian Alexey Leonoy. Although Voskhod 2 spacecraft landed successfully, the moonwalk was not a smooth one. It was later found that Leonoy had risked his life, as his suit had expanded due to overheating in space vacuum. Re-entering the capsule and movement around 0 gravity was a challenge due to the effect of his expanded suit. So the USSR were first?
The Russian did an EVA type walk. To the best of my understanding the Russians did not touch the space craft on the moon and he did not walk on the moon surface. That is how it reads on the net I am sure if the Russian set foot on the moon we would of seen the pics in the papers by now.
